RD serves as the premier racing factory for Toyota, spearheading the development of racing cars and engines. The acronym "TRD" symbolizes Toyota's commitment to motorsports, actively fostering its growth in Japan. Performance parts exclusively crafted for Toyota's racing vehicles have seamlessly found their way into the lineup of Toyota's standard models.

TRD plays an integral role in supporting One Make Races like Formula Toyota in Japan, where its expertise and innovations are applied to both racing car components and regulatory standards. These races, characterized by intense competition and cutting-edge technology, showcase TRD's dedication to motorsports excellence.

In addition to its involvement in the All Japan Championship Series and the CART Championship Series in the USA, TRD is eager to contribute as a development team for racing and rally cars. While TRD does not directly participate as a racing team, it takes great pride in its support of Toyota Motorsports' ongoing evolution and advancement.
