The Toyota GR Yaris has always been a car people modify in very different directions. Some owners focus on power, some on suspension, and some on making the car more suitable for rally, gravel or winter use.
One of the more interesting Toyota original parts is the GR Yaris small brake kit.
This kit is designed to allow the car to run 15-inch wheels. That matters because smaller wheels open up more tyre options, especially for gravel, rally and winter use.
What is included?
The Toyota small brake kit includes:
- Brake discs
- Brake pads
- Dust shields
- Caliper adapters
- Hub components
- Lower control arm uprights
With the smaller brake setup, the lower control arm moves closer to the hub by around 20 mm. This helps create the clearance needed for 15-inch wheels.
Why use the small brake kit?
The standard GR Yaris brakes are strong, but they require larger wheels. For some uses, that is not ideal.
A 15-inch wheel setup can make sense for:
- Gravel tyres
- Rally use
- Winter tyres
- Rougher road conditions
- More tyre sidewall
- Better tyre availability for certain motorsport uses
This is not about making the car look more aggressive. It is a practical conversion for people who need the GR Yaris to work in different conditions.
Toyota original parts
There are other “small brake kit” options available, but this one is made by Toyota using Toyota parts, specifically for the GR Yaris.
That is the main reason we like it. It is a proper OEM-based solution rather than a random mix of parts.
